Bob Nowlin  provides  financial management solutions to branded restaurant and hospitality companies creating a strong financial management process which will improve clients’ operating performance as well as build stronger loyalty from their financiers.  Whether  sourcing and negotiating financing, evaluating systems,  developing a financial management team or providing strategic analysis Bob’s process is consistent and built on the three key elements of honest and timely communications, calm and attentive style with all levels of management and commitment to end results orientation.

Recent restaurant and hospitality clients have included Mackay Restaurant Group, Taco Del Mar and Neighborhood Grills.  Experience also has included past financial management responsibility for projects at Restaurants Unlimited, Pacific Coast Restaurants, Cinnabon and Le Peep Restaurants.

Background

Bob’s successful outcomes with clients are a direct outgrowth of his unique financial background combining experience as CFO for Restaurants Unlimited, a $240 million revenues restaurant company,  a Managing Director in E.S. Jacobs & Co, a New York based private equity firm and  CPA and  partner in Arthur Young & Co (now Ernest & Young).  As CFO for Restaurants Unlimited Bob lead the financial strategic planning, budgeting, new financing and accounting systems development during a 17 year period as a part of strategic teams that grew the company by new openings and acquisition by 370%.  At E. S. Jacobs & Co Bob acquired significant financial transaction experience by co-managing or managing acquisitions of five companies including contract negotiations, financing and the due diligence process.  At Arthur Young & Co Bob coordinated financial audits to clients in 40 different companies in multiple industries including three multinational public companies. In the last 10 years with the firm his work was heavily weighted toward SEC reporting and international operations.

Extras

Bob is a member of Washington Society of CPAs and serves on the finance committee of the Washington Restaurant Association.  He has been actively involved in employer charity initiatives over the years including “Dine For America” led by Restaurants Unlimited in 2001.

He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Williams College Executive Studies Program.

Bob is an outdoorsman and avid skier, backpacker, biker and diver.  He also cooks “Bar B Que” as a hobby and has frequently catered large events.

Bob is married to Katie who is the web manager for SEA TAC airport. Together they have three grown thriving children.
